Project Overview

COGNICA supported Kier Construction on the delivery of the new Sunderland Specialist Eye Hospital, a purpose-built healthcare facility developed for Sunderland City Council and South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The state-of-the-art hospital will provide specialist ophthalmology services for patients across the North East, bringing together operating theatres, diagnostic facilities, outpatient departments and dedicated treatment spaces. Given the scale and complexity of the project, Kier engaged COGNICA early in the construction programme to manage and coordinate the collection, review and delivery of the project’s extensive O&M and handover information.

Healthcare projects generate significant volumes of asset, maintenance and compliance information that must be accurately collated before handover.
