COGNICA work in many sectors and one of these is Healthcare. COGNICA recently exhibited alongside other members of the RSK family at the Built Environment and Networking Healthcare event, where nearly 200 delegates gathered for the NHS Property 2022 conference in London. NHS Property Services manages 10% of the overall NHS estate in the UK and this year’s focus at the event was how property and estate functions can work towards a better, smarter and greener NHS.
RSK was proud sponsor of the event and held an exhibition on the day. It was a great occasion to meet lots of people from across the sector and make valuable connections face to face.
The Healthcare sector is facing many challenges right now and one of them is moving into the future with the digitisation of their estates documentation and assets. This is very high on the agenda as this allows for better data and better decision making, ultimately saving valuable time and money for the NHS Trusts. The data is there, but sourcing and retrieving it in its variety of structures and formats is a problem.
At COGNICA we have been supporting the healthcare sector so that they can move their existing legacy data and new build estate O&M information into an updateable, unified, easily accessible, and accurate Document Management System. Having all estates documentation digitised, standardised, and centralised in their own DMS, enables the estate and facilities teams to easily find and efficiently manage their data, so they remain compliant for building safety and the golden thread.
In addition, our Reality-Capture and Scan-Hosting service, Insite360, enables remote visualisation of the estate. Insite360, using NavVis technology provides survey-grade accuracy and a millimetre-dense RGB-coloured point cloud that can be imported into most BIM programmes. The ability to tag assets, add Points-of-Interest markers, link to O&M documentation and embed training videos, means FM teams do not have to go to site. Thereby significantly reducing travel costs, time, risk and reduces carbon footprint – all significant targets of the NHS.
